Weight Loss Clinic
Our aim at the weight loss clinic at Cedar Ridge Family Medicine is to use nutritional, behavioral and medical techniques to help people achieve lasting weight loss. Clients will meet with Regan who will help them set goals by figuring out what will work best for them. Everyone has different reasons for not being successful at weight loss; we will help figure out what’s standing in your way and help find solutions for each individual.
People wonder what a dietitian can do to help them lose weight. Here are some advantages to working with Regan at Cedar Ridge Family Medicine:
- Create measurable, realistic goals based on your preferences, lifestyle and abilities.
- Have a coach who will help you hold yourself accountable.
- Have a mentor who will help motivate and encourage you.
- Provide real, accurate information about nutrition, weight loss and exercise.
Here are some things that she won’t do:
- Insist that you do things “the right way.” As far as she’s concerned, the “right way” is the way that works for you and helps you be successful.
- Criticize or judge you
- Tell you what to eat or what not to eat. Food brings pleasure and richness to our lives as well as fuel and nutrition to our bodies. All foods can be part of a healthy diet.
- Make you do something that you don’t want to do. You despise keeping a food journal? We’ll figure out a different solution. You loathe going to the gym? We’ll find some other way for you to be more active.
What can you expect if you decide to become a client at our weight loss clinic?
- You’ll meet with the dietitian who will gather some measurement information so we have a baseline to start from. We’ll get your weight, body fat percentage and different body measurements such as your waist and hips. We’ll also do some simple blood work to see what your cholesterol and blood sugar levels are.
- You’ll meet with Dr. Gray who will determine how much physical activity you’re able to do and to decide if it’s appropriate to prescribe any medication for you.
- You and the dietitian will talk about what’s worked for you in the past, what things you’re able and willing to change about your lifestyle and what kinds of goals you have.
- You can attend twice monthly classes taught by Regan or Dr. Gray
- You and Regan will meet regularly to talk about how you’ve been doing, what’s working, what can be changed to work better, create new goals or make a new exercise plan. Everyone is different. Our meetings are individualized and based on you and your needs.
- You have someone you can trust to say, “Yes, you’re doing what you need to do to achieve your goals.”
